Design Team and Zetti's

Well I'm finally getting around to posting my first works for the ZNE Design Team.   I made these pieces using the "Fabulous Faces #1" college sheet from the ZNE store.  If you go to that link you can see what the images looked like before I used them in my art and you can also see a couple of my art pieces on that page as well.

Anyway....I made these pieces in the style of what is called Zetti or Zettiology.  This style refers to the type of work that Teesha and Tracy Moore use in their art journals.  You can see examples of Teesha's work here.

So I started these pieces with some regular wax crayons on watercolor paper and then painted over the crayon with watercolor paints.  I then went on to collage with the images from the collage sheet for ZNE along with some scrapbook papers.  I then added some color to the collages by using water soluable patels and glaze and souffle pens made by Sakura.   After I did this I added the text.  On one of these peieces I wrote directly on to the piece and on the other 3 added the text after I scanned in the pieces to my computer.  I know it looks like I used stamps to add the text but it was just using some KEWL fonts that look like stamps. LOL!!  I wanted to scan in these pieces without the text so that I could use them in other work if I wanted to.  Something Teesha and Tracy both suggest doing.

This was the piece I wrote on directly. To see the full size image, please click on it.

Hey look....

Hey look what my wonderful friend and fearless leader at ZNE, Chelise, made for me.....

She made one of these for everyone on the ZNE design team!! I love how cute it is!! And I also love that she personalized one for each person on the team!!  If you're interested you can go look at all of them here.  If you click on the picture of each person you can read a little bit about each artist on the team. At the bottom of each bio you can follow the links that Chel included for each of us at the bottom of each of our bios!!  She's always a busy women, but she's really working fast and hard on this new endevor for ZNE!!

Ms. Chel...you've out done yourself, yet again!! I LOVE YOU SWEETIE!!

I also wanted to write a bit about my good and dear friend, JoAnnA Pierotti, in this blog.  She is currently undergoing chemo for breast cancer.  She lives in northern California, and is a wonderful mixed media and altered art artist.  As is normal for most people undergoing chemo, she's not feeling her best and as a result not able to create much lately.  I'm writing here to ask you all to say prayers for her and/or send her good thoughts (as I know all are not of the praying sort) for good health, to stay strong, and that she have more good days than bad during her chemo.  And last but not least...TOTAL HEALING from her cancer!!  I also thought I'd share her beautiful self portait here as well.

If you'd like to read more about JoAnnA and her daily struggles, and her creativeness, you can go to her heartfelt and earnest blog to read more.

I LOVE YOU dear JoAnnA and I pray for and think of you daily!!!!

ZNE and other things

So I'm finally getting around to my second post of 2007 and I have a lot to write about.

First of all...I'm very excited about 2 things going on over at The Land of ZNE.  The first being, that I was just accepted to be on the NEW Design Team for ZNE!!!  I'm so excited about this because this means that art that I create will help to promote items that ZNE makes and sells.  If you'd like to learn more about the Design Team you can go check it out by clicking on the picture below.  Right now there isn't a whole lot over there to look at because we're just starting out.  But if you keep coming back here and follow my link on the right, under my "Links I love" section you can check every once in awhile to see some new yummy art and to learn more about my fellow design team members.

As a member of this Design Team I get to use this fun little icon on my blog here, on MySpace and other places like this.  In the future if you'd like to see what I'm up to with the ZNE Design team you can click on this little logo under my "Links I Love" section and be updated.  This is what it looks like.

The other fun thing going on over at ZNE that I'm very excited about is the ZNE Book Club!!!  I'm so excited about this because it combines two of my MOST FAVORITE things in the world, ART and BOOKS!!!  The only things that come before that....are my relationship with Christ and my family.  So....needless to say...this is right up my ally!! And what makes it even more fun for me.....and well everyone involved is that this also all benefits a wonderful organization that helps care for animals in need.  This organization is Bernie Berlin's A Place to Bark and Meow.  To learn about what books we'll be reading/reviewing and the activities we're going to be doing please click on the little logo below.  And if you see something you like on our list, please join in on the fun!!!

So I have one final fun thing to put here and it also has to do with ZNE.  ZNE started this fun thing in March called Spirito Di ZNE or The Spirit of ZNE.  Each day a random program picks a wonderful ZNE member to be the Spirit of ZNE.  And the person get's posted on this website.  The posting usually has a sample of the artists work, a pic of them (if available) and a little info about the artist along with links to their galleries, blogs, websites, etc.  As a result of this new fun feature over at ZNE people who leave comments for the wonderful spotlighted artist get entered into a drawing for a fun give away.  Well for the month of March I was the one blessed to get the give away!! I WON!!! I can hardly believe it, but I did!!  And blessed me, gets some wonderful Lulu Honey Vamp perfumerie from Bella at Dirty Roses. THANKS BELLA!!!

So...besides these fun things happening in my life, I've been busy working on some up coming projects for my Altered Art Obsession (AAO) Group.  One of them being Zetti Pages for our next Style in our Style Series fat book and the other one being the True Colors' inchies in the color of GOLD!!  I'll post images of those as I get them done here.  Another fun thing I'm doing that's a little different for me is that I'm participating in a circle journal, but not the normal kind I'm used too.  It's all being done digitally and through this digital scrabooking site I belong to called Devine Digital. I have until Friday, the 13th (BWAHHH!!) to come up with the theme I'd like to do for my journal....and right now I'm really leaning towards favorite quotes.  It'll most likely end up being that...but if something else peeks my interest it might change.

Oh and I almost forgot that I also signed up for an ATC's swap through my fellow ZNE'r and AAO friend Chrysti's blog.  She's hosting a doodle ATC swap.  That  I'm actually really excited about...as a result of her post on her blog concerning this swap and the doodles in her art journal I've picked up one of my art journals and have been sketching up a storm lately.  I think I'm going to do my ATC's for this swap based on the following doodles I did of different kinds of faces/girls/ladies.  When you look at it you can see that my kiddo's and their friends have an influence on my doodles...LOL!!!  Leave me comments to tell me what you think of them.

So that's all I have to share for now......I hope to be a little more consistent with my posts.  Maybe it I can shoot for at least once every few weeks and be happy if happens more often then that!! LOL!!
